The Architectural Control Committee reviews requests for additions or changes to existing structures and/or developed lots to ensure that all improvements conform to the Declaration, Bylaws and Community Policies and are equal to/or exceeding established standards. Such changes must also blend with other improvements within the community. Modifications needing ACC approval include, but are not limited to decorations, painting, major landscaping changes, repair or replacement of roofs or exterior surfaces, installation of solar panels, swimming pools, patios, patio covers, gazebos, and storage sheds.
You must submit plans and specifications of requested changes or additions to your home or lot. These plans/specifications must show the nature, kind, shape, height, materials and location of all proposed landscaping and/or construction of improvements. Such plans must be submitted at least thirty (30) days in advance of the proposed project start date. These items are to be directed to the Hulen Heights HOA in care of the Association Manager using the ACC Request form and any appropriate checklists.
The HOA and ACC do not wish to prohibit or discourage owners or residents from protecting or improving their property. Certain provisions are necessary to protect the physical and visual integrity of all buildings within the Hulen Heights Community.
The ACC is here to help you make appropriate improvements and repairs. We recommend that before starting a major project, you reach out to the committee for guidance. The committee is ready to help you understand the guidelines, policies, and process to assist in the planning and completion of your home improvement project. Though the committee has 30 days to review your plans, that amount of time is not normally necessary. If it will take more than a few days to review, you will be contacted by the committee. In the case of an emergency, please do what is necessary to secure your property, and contact the ACC directly for assistance.
